【Important】 Change of the soloist and program; 657th Subscription Concert
Sapporo Symphony Orchestra hereby announce a change of soloist appearing in our 657th Subscription Concert and its program scheduled on November 11 and 12 at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. Ms. Kaori Ikeda, mezzo soprano, is unable to be with us because of illness.
There will be no refund of tickets for this reason, and we thank you in advance for your understandings.

【Biography】
Emi ISHIBASHI, soprano
Graduated from and completed Osaka College of Music.
Received the Music Critic Club Encouragement Award, the Sakuya Konohana Award, the Sakai Tokitada Music Award, and many others
In 1998, she was invited to play the role of Gretel in the play "Hansel and Gretel" at the Chemnitz City Theater in Germany. Since then, she appeared as New National Theater “Silence” Oharu, “La Bohème” Mimi, Musetta, “Fidelio” Marzelline, “Don Giovanni” Zerlina, Hyogo Performing Arts Center “Evening Crane” Tsu, Biwako Hall “Carmen” Michaela and others including “The Human Voice.”
Also with number of orchestras nationwide, Ishibashi collaborated in Bach "Matthew Passion," Mendelssohn "Elia," Mozart "Coronation Mass" "Mass in C Minor," Beethoven "Egmont," Brahms "German Requiem," Mahler "Symphony No. 4," R. Strauss “Last Four Songs,” Orff's "Carmina Burana,” Verdi "Requiem,” Gounod "Solemn Mass of St. Cecilia," Faure “Requiem,” Bartok “Bluebeard's Castle (Concert form),” Dvorak "Stabat Mater," and many more. In March 2024, she will appear again in Biwako Hall as “Der Rosenkavalier” Sophie.
Professor at Osaka College of Music, and this will be her first appearance with Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.
