| How to apply | ●How to apply Download the application form from Sapporo Symphony Orchestra official website (from the PDF below) , write in necessary information with your ID photograph pasted. Send the document to the address noted in the following clause 6 by a registered post. (Document sent to the orchestra will not be returned to the sender.) ●Application deadline Must arrive by Friday, June 20, 2025 ●Result of Preliminary audition Result will be notified by post before Monday, July 7, 2025. |
| 2．Primary Round（Live audition by the percussion section members), Secondary Round (Live audition by and with the section members) | ●Date and Place Monday, September 1, 2025 morning and afternoon Sapporo Art Park Art Hall Arena (Geijutsu-no-mori 2-chome, Minami-ku, Sapporo) ●Audition repertoire For both primary and secondary rounds, applicants are asked to perform the audition repertoire, etudes and orchestral excerpts with the instrument designated by the orchestra. For the secondary round, in addition to playing solo, applicants are asked to perform excerpts together with percussion section members. ＊Check the website on audition repertoire and designated instruments together with precautions. ＊The orchestral excerpts will be sent to the applicants by post. ●Result notification The result will be informed to the applicant at the site after the secondary round. |
| 3．Final Round (Live audition by all the orchestra members and interview) | ●Date and Place Tuesday, September 2, 2025 afternoon tbd Sapporo Art Park Art Hall Arena (Geijutsu-no-mori 2-chome, Minami-ku, Sapporo) ●Audition Repertoire Same as in the primary and secondary rounds. Prepare to perform with the designated music (etudes and orchestral excerpts). ●Interview There will be an interview for those who passed the secondary round. Details will be given to the successful applicants. |

Salary and Benefits (based on the current salary sheet; based on age and experience) | Salary 195,900 JPY (age 22) Additional Bonus twice a year (following the orchestra’s stipulate) Other benefits: housing, family, cold-area, commuting and instrument. Preliminary Audition (Primary and Secondary live auditions) | ●Date and Time ［Primary］ Thursday, May 22, 2025; starting 10:00 am (planned) ［Secondary］Friday, May 23, 2025; in afternoon (planned) ●Audition Venue Sapporo Art Park Art Hall Arena (2-chome Geijutsu-no-mori, Minami-ku, Sapporo TEL. 011-592-5596） ●Live Audition Repertoire ［Primary］ (1)Concerti：①・② are with piano accompaniment ③ is without piano accompaniment ①Haydn Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major 1st movement (beginning to 117 mm) ②Honegger Intrada (beginning to 33 mm〔Allegro〕） ③Tomasi Trumpet Concerto 1st movement (beginning to 8 mm, cadenza (No. 20) to the end of 1st movement) ※Mute is optional. (2)Orchestral excerpts ※Applicant can choose the instrument. ［Secondary］ Orchestral excerpts ※Applicant can choose the instrument. ※For Haydn, must play with B-♭flat trumpet; for Honegger and Tomasi, must play with C trumpet. ※The orchestra will arrange a piano accompanist, but the applicant can also attend the audition with his/her accompanist. In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. ※There will be no rehearsal with piano for the primary audition. The accompanist will use Henle for Haydn and Salabert for Honegger. If the applicant attends the primary audition with his/her accompanist, there is no limitation on the versions of the scores. ※The scores of orchestral excerpts will be sent out via email after application is closed. Please fill in your email address on the application form, that can receive PDF files. What to perform will be notified to the applicant on the day of the audition. ＜NOTE＞ ＊The applicants who have current profession in the orchestras registered in Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras (regular membership orchestras only) are to be exempted from the primary audition and can start from the secondary audition on May 23. (Those who match this will receive a notification by April 23.) ＊Those who passed the secondary audition will be asked to perform in concerts for designated number of times with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra until the final audition as a guest player. |

In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. There will a rehearsal time with piano during the morning of the audition day. Details will be notified on a later date. ※ There will be an interview on the same day for those who attend the final auditions. |
