| 2. Recording Audition (Primary Round) | Record the following repertoire with track numbers on CD-R, and send it to the orchestra. [Repertoire] Haydn: Concerto for Cello and Orchestra No. 2 in D major, 1st movement ( by Schott) Please include cadenza (Gendron version) Record with a piano accompaniment. [Precautions] - The recording must be made within 6 months before the date of application. - Record with a piano accompaniment and prelude can be excluded accordingly. - Place track numbers at the beginning and at the start of your cadenza. - The recording device must be CD-R (music recording only). - Confirm the content with your audio device before submitting. Avoid low volume or any echo in the recording as this may affect the judgement. |
| How to apply | - Send the application form with your recording to the address noted in 6 by post. - Download the application form together with Consent of Handling Personal Information form from the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra official website. Fill in the necessary information and paste your ID photograph. - Mark your name on CD-R. - The documents and recording are not returnable. ●Deadline of application Must arrive by Friday, August 28, 2026 ●Result of Recording Audition Result will be notified, no later than Sunday, September 13, 2026. In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. There will be a rehearsal time with piano during the morning of each live audition date. Further details will be informed on a later date. - There will be an interview for those who attend the final auditions on the same day. |
| 4. Salary and Benefits | - Salary 203,900 JPY (age 22) - Additional bonus twice a year - Other benefits: housing, family, cold-area, commuting and instrument. - Social welfare, unemployment insurance and retirement allowance are also available. |

Note: with piano accompaniment Paganini: No. 1 in D major op. 6; Mendelssohn: in E minor op. 64; Beethoven: in D major op. 61; Brahms: in D major op. 77; Saint Saens: No. 3 op. 61, Bruch: No. 1 in G minor op. 26, Tchaikovsky: in D major op. 35; Sibelius: D minor op. 47 or Bartok: No. 2 [ Orchestral Study ] (3) R. | 4. Practical Examination by performing with the orchestra | Those who passed the secondary round will be asked to perform within the orchestra for the period of 6 months, until end of May 2027. The status will be the invited associate concertmaster or invited concertmaster. (Number of concerts to perform, date and venue will be announced on a later date) |
