2. Recording Audition (Primary audition) Repertoire should be recorded in the listed order with track numbers on CD-R.

(1) One of the following concerti, the first movement with cadenza, with piano accompaniment.
 Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5
(2) The first movement of one of the following concerti with piano accompaniment
Paganini / No. 1 in D major op. 6, Mendelssohn / E minor op.64, Beethoven / D major op. 61, Brahms / D major op.77, Saint Saens / No. 3 op. 61, Bruch / No. 1 in G minor op. 26, Tchaikovsky / D major op.35, Sibelius / D minor op. 47, Bartok / No. 2,

(3) Beethoven / Symphony No. 9, 2nd movement (2nd violin) Beginning to the first note of B
(4) R. Strauss / Don Juan (1st violin) Beginning to the mm13 of C


The recording must be made within 6 months before the date of application.
(1)and (2) need piano accompaniment, and introduction can be deleted.
Score editions are free to choose.
Place track numbers at start of each piece and when there is a cadenza, place track number at start of cadenza.
The recording device must be CD-R (music recording only)
Confirm the content before submitting. Avoid low volume or any echo in the recording as this may affect the judgement.

Send the following documents together with your recording to the address noted in 6 by post.
Enclose an application form downloaded from Sapporo Symphony Orchestra official website, filled it in and paste the ID photograph.
Mark your name on CD-R.
The documents and recording are not returnable.

●Result of Recording Audition
Result will be notified by post, no later than Monday, December 9, 2024.
3. Live Auditions (Secondary and Final Auditions) ●Date and Venue
Secondary Audition (Audition by Section members)
Monday, January 20, 2025 starting from 12 noon (tentative schedule)
Sapporo Art Park Art Hall Arena(2-chome Geijutsu-no-mori, Minami-ku, Sapporo)

Final Audition (Audition by all the orchestra members)
Tuesday, January 21, 2025 afternoon (planned)

Live Audition repertoire
(1) The first movement of the same Mozart’s Concerto, either No. 3, No. 4 or No.5, recorded for the primary audition with cadenza.
(2) Orchestral study
Details will be informed to those who passed the primary audition.

- The orchestra will arrange a piano accompanist, but the applicant can also attend the audition with his/her accompanist. In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. There will be a rehearsal time with piano during the morning of each live audition date. Further details will be informed on a later date.
- There will be an interview for those who attend the final auditions on the same day.
4.Salary and other benefits Salary 195,900JPY (age 22)
Additional bonus twice a year
Other benefits: housing, family, cold-area, commuting and instrument.
Social welfare, unemployment insurance and retirement allowance are also available.
5. Employment starting date March 2025 (negotiable)
There will be 6-month probation period before official employment.
