<Message from Mo. Charles Dutoit>
  Sapporo has always held a special place in my heart since my debut with the Sapporo Symphony in 1970 and I remember it.
 I was so much looking forward to a return to this wonderful city where I also directed the Pacific Music Festival for a couple of years. Unfortunately, between 2 concerts in Tokyo last week, I caught a virus and then started to feel very bad. After seeing a doctor and taking medicine, I came to Osaka to conduct the orchestra and during the first rehearsal, I felt unwell and had to interrupt our work. I called my doctor in Switzerland who advised me to recuperate immediately.
 I am so sorry for the musicians, the administration and the public of Sapporo but my cancellation cannot be helped for health reasons.
 Please accept my deepest apologies,
Charles Dutoit
