Matthias Bamert（chief conductor）

The Swiss conductor Matthias Bamert studied music in Darmstadt and Paris with Pierre Boulez and Stockhausen. He was principal oboist of the Salzburg Mozart Orchestra, then switched to conducting. Matthias Bamert's distinguished career began in North America as an apprentice to George Szell, later as Assistant Conductor to Leopold Stokowski and Resident Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra under Lorin Maazel. He was Music Director of the Swiss Radio Orchestra, and Principal Guest Conductor of the Scottish National Orchestra and Director of the Glasgow contemporary music festival Musica Nova. He then became famous for his creative programming as Director of the Lucerne Festival after which his responsibility moved to Music Director of the London Mozart Players. Matthias Bamert has also served as Principal Guest Conductor of New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Associate Guest Conductor of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal Conductor of West Australian Symphony, and Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. His appearance is so worldwide, including the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, Philharmonia Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Berliner Symphoniker, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, MDR Sinfonieorchester, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and NHK Symphony Orchestra. In 2017, he has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra. From April 2018 he holds a position of Chief Conductor of Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. Matthias Bamert has made over 80 CDs, many of which have won international prizes. In 2022, he recorded his first CD “The Waltz” with Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.

Ian Bostridge（tenor）

Ian Bostridge CBE has made regular appearances at the Salzburg, Edinburgh, Munich, Vienna, Schwarzenberg and Aldeburgh festivals. He has had residencies at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall New York, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonie Luxembourg, London’s Barbican Centre and Wigmore Hall. In 2018 Ian began an auspicious Artistic Residency with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the first of its kind for the ensemble. His operatic appearances have included Aschenbach Death in Venice for the Deutsche Oper, Peter Quint The Turn of the Screw for the Teatro alla Scala, Handel’s Jeptha for Opéra National de Paris, Lysander A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Opera Australia and Edinburgh Festival, Nerone L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Tom Rakewell and Male Chorus The Rape of Lucretia for the Bayerische Staatsoper, Don Ottavio Don Giovanni for the Wiener Staatsoper, Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Aschenbach and Jupiter Semele for the English National Opera, Peter Quint, Don Ottavio and Caliban The Tempest for the Royal Opera House and Madwoman Curlew River in the Netia Jones’s staging for the London Barbican which was also seen in New York and on the west coast of America. Ian appears this season as Renaud/Armide for Opéra Comique and undertakes a tour of St Matthew Passion with Les Talens Lyriques, both cond. Rousset. His multitude of concert performances include Zender’s Winterreise with Pappano at La Monnaie, War Requiem with San Francisco Symphony cond. Jordan and with Sinfonica di Milano cond. Trevino, Les Illuminations at the MITO festival, Des Knaben Wunderhorn for the Sinfonica di Milano cond. Mariotti, a performance of Mustonen’s Taivaanvalot with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra cond. Mustonen, Les nuits d’été with Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra cond. Zehetmair, Das Paradies und das Peri with Capella Cracoviensis cond. Adamus, Britten Serenade with the Hallé Orchestra and City of Birmingham Orchestra, Folly of Desire with Brad Mehldau at the Wiener Konzerthaus and Bozar, performances of English chamber music at the Muziekcentrum Biljoke and Schleswig-Holstein Musikfest with Oxalys, a performance at Wigmore with Capella Neapolitana, as well as performances with the Oberon Trio. He also undertakes a Korean recital tour of Winterreise with Julius Drake, and a European concert tour with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Additionally, Ian sings recitals with Magnus Svensson at the Stockholm Concert Hall, Vadym Kholodenko for the Czech Chamber Music Society, and long-time collaborators Saskia Giorgini at the Concertgebouw and Sociedad Filarmonica de Zaragoza and Julius Drake at the Pierre Boulez Saal and Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical in Madrid. Alessio Allegrini（horn）

Founder of Musicians For Human Rights, music director of the Human Rights Orchestra and Principal Conductor of Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese (L’Aquila), Alessio Allegrini has performed as principal horn with virtually all of the world’s leading conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Carlo Maria Giulini, Daniel Barenboim, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Lorin Maazel, Myung-Whun Chung, Mariss Jansons, Jeffrey Tate, Valery Gergiev, Simon Rattle, Antonio Pappano and Riccardo Muti. Winner of prizes in both the Prague Spring International Competition and the Munich International Competition, Allegrini held the first chair in the Orchestra of La Scala for eight years and subsequently served as guest principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic for one year. For many years he was principal horn of Orchestra Mozart under Claudio Abbado, and this relationship culminated with the live recording of the complete Mozart horn concertos for Deutsche Grammophon, as well as the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for winds and the Bach Brandenburg Concerto No.2. As soloist, Allegrini premiered Elliott Carter’s Horn Concerto in Europe and performed Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings with Ian Bostridge and the Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia. Other concerto engagements have included Orchestra da Camera di Mantova, Philhamonie Baden-Baden, Orchestra Teatro Petruzzelli Bari, Hamburger Symphoniker, Orchestra della Scala, Filarmonica Teatro La Fenice and Orchestra of Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. For many years he has been the solo first horn of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. As conductor he made his debut at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari with a highly acclaimed concert of Wagner and Brahms in 2013. Subsequently he began to jointly conduct and solo with orchestras including the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, I Solisti Aquilani, and Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano. Recently, he led and soloed with the Tokyo City Philharmonic and the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and conducted the Hamburger Symphoniker. As a soloist, he performed with the Vienna Symphoniker, Hiroshima Symphony, Nagoya Philharmonic, Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, and Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana. In the 2021-22 season, he appeared at the KKL Luzern and Teatro La Fenice with the Human Rights Orchestra, returned to conduct Carmina Burana at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and his first collaboration with La Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, Parma with the programme of Mendelssohn and Beethoven. In the 2022-23 season highlights include his 3rd appearance as a conductor at the Theatro Lirico di Cagliari (Beethoven and Stravinsky) and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Human Rights Orchestra at the KKL Lucerne, and first collaboration with the Camerata Bern and Sapporo Symphony Orchestra as a soloist. Since 2004, Allegrini has been the solo principal horn of the Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome. In 2021 he was appointed as principal conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese (L’Aquila). Allegrini is a professor at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano.
